Brief

What is the future of retail in air travel?

Solution

Consider a strategic view on what opportunities are available for disruption in this market sector, and present it as a white paper/thought piece on behalf of the business.

My Role

I was responsible for leading this internal project. I considered all current pain-points in airport retail and partnered this with the vast personalisation opportunities that exist along this journey. The end goal was to create a continuous retail journey for all travellers that would provide immersive experiences and personal touches at each stage. 

To do this I organised and led an internal brainstorm workshop. I analysed the current retail journey through the airport, highlighting the key opportunities. Partnered with this I also produced key insights into what future airports may look and how the journey may differ. Finally I married these insights with the landscape of high street retail to gauge shopper expectations. 

The concept was presented as a combination of 3D renders and interface visuals. I led the look and feel of the interface and UX concept, identifying what best met the needs of the user.

The interface design on this project was not simply mobile based; it also had to be placed in physical environments and would drive the overall retail experience.

On completion of the project concept, I summarised the work as a written thought piece. I was able to bring together all my initial insights, partnered with the ideas to present a beautiful and thought provoking output.

Summary

The feedback I got from this project was extremely positive and came from all corners of the company.
