Other Projects
Seymourpowell
Throughout my year at Seymourpowell, I learned a great deal about design, working with designers from multiple backgrounds who have years of experience in the industry. Through working on projects involving spaces, objects, experiences and digital outputs I have become a versatile designer.
Automobile Interface
We were tasked with developing the design language for a self-driving car. I was responsible for the UX and UI of the interface. This spanned from initial wireframes through to the final animation of the interface. This included every screen within the car and gave me experience with designing for a more physical environment rather than mobile.
Designing a Space
During this project I was able to use my User Experience skills as to develop a physical space. I was involved early on in the project, envisaging how the l experience would function from start to finish. During this process I worked with Product Designers and Architects to both craft the experience and plan the space.
IOT Connected App
We were responsible for creating an Internet of Things connected app. I was involved at the heart of the client workshop, presenting insights and stimulus for both designers and clients. Post workshop I was at the core of the distillation, developing the outputs and crafting them into both the features of the app and the design language.
As Seymourpowell where responsible for designing both the app and the product this meant that the physical and digital could be developed in parallel. This allowed for a smooth work flow that ensured the end goal would provide a unique and intuitive experience
Re-Imagining First Class Travel
I also worked on multiple transport projects, one of them being to re-imagine First Class Travel. I was involved in this project in its early stages, during the internal workshop to kick it off. My job was to gather insights from a digital point of view. Since this was a concept that would branch over 20 years into the future, it was important to consider both current and future technologies.
Brand Development
During my time with Seymourpowell l worked with brand designers on multiple occasions. One example of this is designing an exciting new brand for a digital textiles company. My job was to gather relevant Gifs which I felt encapsulated each idea, these would be used to both inspire the brand team in progressing the ideas even further and also help the clients understand how the brands would move and function when they were animated.
The feedback I received from the client and brand designers was very positive, they said that the examples had sold each idea and generated a huge amount of excitement within the pitch.
Another example was working in the complete re-brand of a transport company. Throughout this project I contributed to a range of tasks including brand generation, UI and UX. The core task was to take the brand that had been developed and apply it to the Interface of the current app. This involved market research, enabling me to not only apply the brand to the app but also re-structure the layout and features to provide the best experience possible for travellers.
